Day 15 – Pray Bigger Prayers Because God's Bigger Than We Realize
“Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:” ~ Isaiah 59:1( KJV)
When we pray we have to realize nothing is too hard for the Lord! NOTHING!
His Almighty Hand can handle it all! His Almighty Ear can hear it all…every word that that we utter in prayer!
“But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.” ~ Psalms 94:22 KJV
God’s also working on behalf of our best interest. He’s our defender!
Even when all odds are against us, or the battle seems all but won, or things look utterly hopeless, He’s our refuge!
Let’s take a closer look at the meaning of “ refuge”:
1. shelter or protection from danger, trouble, etc.: to take refuge from a storm
2. a place of shelter, protection, or safety
3. anything to which one has recourse for aid, relief, or escape
God is our Shelter, our Protector, our Helper, our Escape, our Relief. He’s the one that can answer prayer! Any Prayer!
Today, let’s run to our refuge for strength, for safety, and for help.
Start praying bigger prayers because your God is
David prayed for his dying son in spite of his own sin of adultery and murder…
“And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether GOD will be gracious to me, that the child may live?” ~ II Samuel 12:22 (KJV)
Word to the wise. >>> Sometimes, the Lord says, “No.”
Even though King David prayed, and fasted, and wept, God did not permit the child to live.
The reality is that there were consequences that came as a result of his sins.
Word to the wise. >>> There are consequences for every choice that we make in life. There are certainly consequences for our choosing to sin.
If there’s anything in your life that isn’t pleasing to God, that’s sin!
Sin is not a popular subject to talk about but know this… it can be a hindrance in getting our prayers answered in the affirmative!
Word to the wise. >>> Sometimes the Lord says, “No.” But, pray ANYWAY!
Remember King David fasted, wept, and prayed. But, in Psalm 51, he also repented of his sin.
Word to the wise. >>> God is a merciful God. Repent and then pray anyway about the trial you’re facing!
“ Who can tell whether God will be gracious.” ~ II Sam. 12:22
His compassions fail not, but, they are new every morning!
Today, ask God for help, and pray anyway!
